Tumbes is on the border to Ecuador, and we passed through a number of time. Annoyingly we had to stay one day when Maureen was turned back at the Ecuadorean border because she required a visa, even though the official Ecuadorean Embassy site said she didn’t. On our way back to Peru from Ecuador we had day to kill, which we spent in the mangrove swamp, the only one in Peru, and port.
