Cuzco is the number one tourist town in Peru as it is the base for organising treks to Machu Picchu place to organise trekking. It also has a bit of a reputation for being a party town, due to the wide range of bars and night spots. We spent a day going around agencies to book a trek, and ending up deciding to do the Salkantay, which like the famous Inca Trail, ends up at Machu Picchu
