The
Colca Valley is one of the deepest valleys in the world, and contains
a semi arid landscape dotted with towns founded in the Spanish Colonial
times. It is famous for both its views and the abundance of Condors. A
special lookout was constructed at a point where Condors traditionally
soared the thermals, but it seems the construction activity and all the
tour busses have scared them away, because when we went there we saw zilch.
