From the highest peaks we descended into the steamy Amazon in the Cuyabeño National park. We stayed in a jungle lodge with our guide Diego, who was marvellously comical and unsuccessful when demonstrating the art of jungle survival.
The most dangerous animal in this region turned out to be a psycho Ecuadorean woman, who thankfully was evicted from the lodge, leaving us and the other travellers to enjoy the peace.
