Tigre is a delta town on the Parana River, studded with English-style rowing clubs, countless marinas, humble dwellings and elegant mansions from the Belle Époque. There is a saying in South America that Argentineans are Italians (that explains their messed up Government) who speak Spanish (more or less) but think they are English (except when England kicked their butt in the Falklands war – still a sore point and best not mentioned).
