In
the North of Iceland we stayed in an old farm house, and our host could
trace his ancestry to the first Vikings that set foot on Iceland in a
very extensive genealogy that went something like this: Olaf came in long
boat, met Olga who then begot Olafson who became a fisherman. In turn
Olafson met Olga’s cousin and the next 15 generations of Olga’s
and Olaf’s caught herrings and pickled them in brine……
