Lindau was a bit of an accidental destination as we had no idea on where we wanted to go. We arrived to be confronted with 3000 health workers and their charges in wheel chairs, clogging up the city (Running into health conventions is a major occupational hazard for travellers in Germany). Because we couldn't find a place to stay we just checked out the sights for the day, had some sausages and beer then escaped on a night train to Venice.
