Some
of the temples like Ta Prom are only partly restored and are covered in
giant silk cotton and fig trees. Others have been completely dismantled,
mostly by the French, and put back together like a giant puzzle. Each
temple complex has some thing different to offer - e.g. amazingly detailed
stone carvings, jungle settings or shear scale. Taking a break from the
temples we snacked on grasshoppers and water beatles by West Baray - a
favoured local hangout and one of 2 huge rectangle lakes dug out by hand
by the Khymers centuries ago.
