Uganda is very hilly, fertile and populated to bursting point. Every inch of the landscape seems to be planted with corn or beans or both. At the equator we stopped of at a dodgy display of the water down the sink trick, and browsed some tourist cheese shops. Kids everywhere in Uganda asked for pens, but would have been equally happy for some cigarettes. Uganda is the worlds largest per capita consumer of Banana’s, mostly eaten in the form of a starchy mass known as Matoke.
