We weren't expecting to go to the Congo, however, this turned out to be the best place to see mountain gorillas. Along the way we passed through rich volcanic farmland on the hills surrounding the Virunga National Park. The Guide was taken by Maureen, as she was the first Malaysian he'd met. As in Uganda, every inch of the land is cultivated in this region right up to the border of the National Park.
